To feed a raw diet or commercial kibble? I know a lot of people struggle with making this choice. The Bullies being our fur babies we want the best for them so which is best? Here at Topdogbullies we do both. We have been thru numerous dog foods and come to find that Large Breed Diamond Puppy works the best for us. Our babies are on the Large Breed Diamond Puppy solely until they are 6 months of age. Once they turn 6 months old, we add a little raw to the diet, but not too much of this is all they will want. Large breed puppy food is the best for puppies, grows them nice and slow so that there are no health issues. You can have many health problems if you try to pack on weight on a puppy too fast. Once our dogs hit the age of 1 year, we convert them over to completely a raw diet.
Here are some of the reason I have found raw to be better :
1. They love it. Some of the pickiest of eaters love the raw food.
2. Cuts down on teeth cleaningÂ
3. Better health all together, better coats, and brighter eyes.
4. Less poop!!
5. Raw can be cheaper than some of those pricey dog food brands out there that are full of fillers and byproducts.
Some crazy questions & myths about raw feeding:
1. Will it make them vicious or make them want to bite ?
No and No.
2. Will it make my dog sick?No, Please remember dogs are not people, they have a different makeup than us. Do you think wolves go to the pet store?
So what do you think? raw or kibble? It is something to think about….
Just remember never to feed your bully cooked bones. as this can cause a lot of problems, emergencies, and even death. Keep it raw, bone and all.
